How to keep up with new free downloads on SoundCloud
Updated 28 October 2026 · 4 minute read
New free downloads appear on SoundCloud every day, and the good ones are often only free for a while. A short weekly routine catches most of them without scrolling for hours.
1. Follow the right people
Follow producers who have given away a track you liked, and the small labels and collectives that run free releases. Their uploads and reposts then show up in your SoundCloud feed.
2. Keep a short list of sources
Bookmark the playlists, profiles and likes lists that keep giving you good free tracks: a label's free-releases playlist, a curator's likes, a producer's uploads. Five to ten sources is plenty.
3. Re-run them once a week
Paste each source into Cratedigger once a week. It remembers what you already have, so only new tracks are added: free ones are saved, gated ones get a Get free download button, the rest are skipped.
4. Clear the gates in one sitting
Use Open all free-download pages on a playlist to open every gate at once, then work through them in a row. With your accounts connected, each one takes a few seconds.
5. Watch for limited downloads
Some artists only allow a set number of free downloads. Once they're gone, the track stops being free. If something new looks good, grab it the week it appears.
6. Give back
Follow, repost and comment on tracks you end up playing. Artists notice, and it's what keeps free downloads coming.
