Terms of use

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms cover this website and the Cratedigger app. The app is also covered by its license. By using either, you agree to these terms.

What Cratedigger does

Cratedigger is a desktop app that saves SoundCloud tracks whose artists have switched on downloads. It skips every track that isn't offered as a download, and it never removes or works around copy protection. It does not host, store or share any music: files go straight from SoundCloud to your own computer.

Using it fairly

You may use Cratedigger only for tracks you are allowed to download. The artist decides that by switching downloads on or off on SoundCloud. You agree that you will not:

a. sell, re-upload, stream or otherwise share files you saved, unless the rights holder allows it;

b. use the app to infringe anyone's copyright or other rights;

c. use the app in a way that overloads SoundCloud or breaks SoundCloud's own terms of use;

d. change the app to save tracks that their artists have not made downloadable.

The music belongs to the people who made it. Licences an artist attaches to a track (for example a Creative Commons licence) still apply to the file you save.

SoundCloud

Cratedigger is independent. It is not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by SoundCloud. "SoundCloud" is used here only to say which service the app works with. You are responsible for following SoundCloud's terms of use. SoundCloud may change its service at any time, and parts of the app may stop working.

No warranty

The website and the app are provided "as is", without any warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cratedigger is not liable for any damage or loss arising from using them.

Donations

Cratedigger is free. Donations are voluntary gifts, are not payment for the app or any service, and cannot be refunded.
